Born and raised in California, Nathan has been a fiend for geeky pop culture for years. ESPECIALLY comic books and movies. Can't get enough. He also likes writing his own comic books (The Shrouded City) and drinking sparkling water. Maybe it shows we've grown as a society that nobody makes fun of him for making comic books... but he does get a lot of s**t for drinking sparkling water. Win some, lose some. Let’s take a second and realize that Phase 3 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe is actually closer to being done. That’s right, folks we have hit the second version of the Avengers, which are Captain America, Black Widow, The Vision, Scarlet Witch, Falcon, and War Machine. But I have a feeling in my bones that after the events of Civil War and, later down the road, the Infinity War, that the Avengers might take on a whole new look. With the possibility of Doctor Strange, Black Panther, and Captain Marvel joining up, there is a whole new wave that could emerge to Assemble.

So in that case, here is my Dream Casting for the Marvel Phase 4 Avengers. Also mixed in will be my idle fan fiction speculations on what a cinematic take on how each character might go.

1. USAGENT
Played by: Armie Hammer

Armie Hammer gonna shoot somebody!
Armie Hammer gonna shoot somebody!

Armie Hammer already looks like a Captain America type, but he’s shown some darker range in Man From U.N.C.L.E. I’m sure he can pull off the no nonsense demeanor of a soldier.
As for USAgent, remember that Captain America has pissed off a lot of government types that wanted him to just say “How high, sir?” So they want him out of the American, and world, spotlight. But Steve Rogers is as famous as the Captain America brand. So… they create a new, much more “reliable” version in John Walker, also known as “USAgent.” He can even be put in charge of the new Avengers, or be the “liaison” sanctioned by the government.
Now the costume can end up being a gritty rip off Captain America’s look,

or straight up be stealing from Judge Dredd.

"Judge America"? "Captain Dredd"?
“Judge America”? “Captain Dredd”?

Either way, it should evoke a darker energy.

2. BLACK KNIGHT
Played by: Bradley Cooper

Bradley-Cooper-3Black_Knight

After you get past the inside joke of Cooper already voicing Rocket Raccoon, Bradley looks and sounds a hell of a lot like Dane Whitman (Black Knight). He’s already shown he can do action with The A-Team, but he can bring a different energy to Black Knight, especially with what he did in Silver Linings Playbook.
As for The Black Knight character, imagine you’ve been a nobody your whole life, and then super heroes are showing up all over the world. And with their arrival, the cool looking Ebony sword that has been in your family since the Dark Ages starts calling to you, as though it has awoken for the first time in centuries. Would you be a super hero? Even if the cost might be your soul?

3. HERCULES
Played by: Joe Manganiello

He’s a good actor, and he already looks like a demi-god. He’s already done plenty of action stuff, and Magic Mike sure has taught him how to show off the goods. And Hercules is not a shy dude.

So Thor exists, as does the entire Asgardian pantheon. So does Olympus exist? Oh hell yeah! And the Olympians are not the dour species that the Asgardians are. They kind of love to party. And Hercules wants to save the world too! Maybe not for absolutely 100% altruistic reasons, but he loved being a hero. And in the age of the reality show and meme generators (“Cool Story, Bro!”), he figures its time for a come back.

4. CRYSTAL
Played by: Brie Larson

brie Crystal

Brie Larson is just an incredible actress. Simple as that. Any role you give her, she will knock it out of the park.
Crystal is Inhuman Royalty… but she prefers to just live a normal, human life. But as luck would have it, she needs to save her adopted home from the very threats that would wipe out all Inhumans, which in turn would wipe out all Humanity. As one of the few Inhumans with actual knowledge of both people, she has been ordered to help forge peace between the two civilizations. And with her powers over all four elements, she can be quite the heavy hitter.

5. SPECTRUM
Played by: Nathalie Emmanuel

nathalie spectrum

Emmanuel looks perfect for the part, and she has great range between her roles in Game of Thrones and Furious 7.
Spectrum can be a newly discovered Inhuman or “Marvel” brought in as new blood for the Avengers. She can be the newbie either overwhelmed by the new responsibility of being an Avenger. Or she can be an actual force for change, trying to use her powers, both extraordinary and social, to make a difference in the world.  And with extraordinary powers like being able to become a being of pure light, she can make a lot of changes.

6. WONDER MAN
Played by: Daniel Dae Kim

daniel-dae-800 Wonder_Man

Daniel has the jawline of a super hero, and the acting chops to go from charming to intimidating. Just look at his work on Lost. And I’ve always liked him, so there!
Wonder Man is the much needed public face for super humans. What with Civil War and whatever goes wrong in Infinity War and gets blamed on the super heroes, Simon Williams (Wonder Man) will step up to the camera and charm the heck out of the world. And with his super strength, flight, and cool red glowy powers, who else would the world trust more? Too bad he’s a traitor secretly working for the Masters of Evil.

So there’s my additions to the Avengers. Or they could be the entire new team of Avengers? It works either way.

Tune in next week for my list of Super Villains that could be brought into the Marvel Cinematic Universe to bring the hurt to our heroes!
